While Mega Man: Dual Override and Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance are still a ways off, the Capcom Spotlight did highlight the forthcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The heavily anticipated expansion launches on October 9th and also marks the action RPG’s debut on Nintendo Switch 2.
A new trailer teases the story, including how Norgan fell and Eir’s resolve to defeat the Fallen Dragon. We’ve already seen the fiend regenerate after taking lethal damage, and while there may be a way to stop its healing, it seems the Arisen finds the location of its heart: In the hands of a potentially greater threat (apparently their goal all along).
Oh, and Evil Eye from the original game also returns. Created from the Dragon’s remaining magic, it can only be found in The Everfall and Dark Arisen’s Bitterblack Isle. Perhaps there’s a lore reason for its appearance here. Maybe as a consequence of the Fallen Dragon’s defeat. Time will tell.
Between the story, Relic hunting, and Challenge Dungeons, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen promises over 25 hours of content. It’s also getting a new difficulty in Hard Mode, though Capcom hasn’t confirmed when it will be added. Stay tuned for more details and in the meantime, learn more about Relic Expeditions here.
