Dreams – Sony Has 10 Year Vision For The Game

Shuhei Yoshida forsees a long life for the creation-based game.

Dreams is an interesting project, to say the least. It’s less of a game and more a full creation toolset. Already a lot of fun projects have been made in Dreams, as well as fairly faithful recreations of other game levels. Apparently, it’s something that Sony is high on, too, as they have a long term plan for the title.

Speaking with PlayStation Asia during the Tokyo Game Show, Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida spoke about the game in glowing terms. It’s apparently his favorite game coming from Sony at this point in time, and he says they are looking at a decade long plan for Dreams and its growing community (thanks to Push Square for the translation).

Though Dreams is no doubt an interesting proposition, there are a lot of potential pitfalls that haven’t been addressed just yet. At some point it’s been mentioned that games made in Dreams could be sold, but things like ownership rights as well as revenue split haven’t been discussed. But I guess that’s a bridge we will have to cross when the game is out of early access.
