Update: It seems Putson and Dodd have sorted out their differences, as indicated here.

Original Story:

Earlier this week, we had reported that Col Rodgers, the director of the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive DriveClub has left Evolution Studios to form his own indie company. However, there were rumours that Sony were about to fire him which led him to resign and begin his own start up.

These rumors have now been put to rest by Anthony Putson from Orchestral Media Developments. Orchestral Media are a well known company that specializes in providing audio tailored and optimized for each platform. They have been in the industry for 20 years and have shipped over 400 products.

Anthony took to NeoGAF to address the insider’s claim as well as to confirm that the above mentioned rumors are totally incorrect and that Col Rodgers left on his own terms. “Mort, Col Rogers left Evo for personal reasons in Feb, he wasn’t pushed, he left on his own terms, and certainly wasn’t replaced and let go. I know this because he’s a friend of mine, so please be sure next time of the accuracy of your information,” he said.

The insider, Pete Dodd, has been correct with his information several times before. Being an industry insider one should be aware about a veteran company but much to Anthony’s surprise, Pete was not aware of Orchestral Media Developments.

“…20+ yrs in the industry with nearly 400 projects completed, THAT’S who. Complete lack of respect to me, and to Col and pretty much everyone as long as he gets his fix. I used to like him, I followed him on Twitter but sorry, I don’t follow trouble makers,” he said.

However,

At the end of day, it’s important to take all insider information with a grain of salt. They may be or may not be correct. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
