Sega’s Night Trap has to be the most misunderstood game of all time. Night Trap has been banned, tarnished and what have you for its violent and “shameful” content. The game itself focuses on FMV-style cutscenes where you must protect five teenage girls from Augers, beings that feed off of blood like vampires. While the game provoked a United States Senate hearing for promoting violence against women, it had very little blood. The hearings themselves lead to the creation of the ESRB, which is kind of unsurprising given the heavy microscope video games were under at the time.
