Pre-orders have begun for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo’s next title in the Musou series, across all platforms. However, a free demo is also available, with a look at the gameplay and its various features. Focusing on the Battle of Sishui Gate, players can select four weapons – Sword, Wheels, Pudao, and Guandao – to battle against thousands of enemies.

Unlike a similar demo at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, this will be a more challenging endeavor (though Omega Force hasn’t detailed exactly how). Players can adjust the difficulty level if things get too hairy. The demo also doesn’t have a time limit and provides a range of customization options for Arts, gear, gems, and more.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins launches on January 17th, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s confirmed to support PlayStation 5 Pro at launch (which the demo also provides). Head here for a breakdown of the tools and tactics available while learning more about the combat system and controlling companions.
