E3 2012: First ever The Last of Us gameplay footage shown, and it- looks- amazing

Posted By | On 05th, Jun. 2012

Oh boy. I’m still trying to catch my breath. That was incredible. If that wasn’t the best showing of E3 this year, I don’t know what was. Well, so far.

Sony finally showed off gameplay footage for The Last of Us, the upcoming Naughty Dog game, for the first time ever, ever since its reveal in December last year. And boy, was it worth the wait. The reaction from the audience all throughout the demonstration was epic too. I might not be able to summarise this using just my words properly though.

There’s just too much to talk about- first of all, the visuals looked oh-so-amazing. This has to be the best looking video game I’ve seen till date, and it’s not even out yet. The animations, the textures, the environments, everything was top notch.

The gameplay looks incredible too, mixing survival, stealth, horror, action and shooting all together in one seamless experience, along with the typical Hollywood storytelling style that Naughty Dog is known for.

Seriously, my words aren’t doing it any justice. I might be sounding too fanboyistic, so you should have a look yourself. The video’s given above.

Unfortunately, no release date was announced, so stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated.
