With all this news of companies that won’t be revealing anything big at the upcoming The Game Awards- we already had Microsoft confirm that they’re not debuting anything there, and Bethesda confirmed that it, too, will not be showing anything new at the event– it’s easy to have your hype for it deflated entirely.

But wait, because we have EA to the rescue. Speaking on Twitter, EA’s Peter Moore has confirmed that the publisher will be making a ‘very special announcement’ at The Game Awards this Friday.

As for what this announcement could be, it could run the full gamut, really. It could be Mass Effect 4. It could be our next look at Battlefield. Maybe EA will show us more Mirror’s Edge/Star Wars Battlefront. Or Criterion’s new game. Or they could just troll us and show us the new FIFA/Madden/NHL. Maybe they will announce they’re going to be supporting the Wii U again.

Really, it’s hard to tell. Let’s just wait and watch.
