EA Plays Santa Claus with Origin (And Then Realized Their Mistake)

EA accidentally gives away unlimited free games over the weekend via Origin.

Now the funny thing is whether to feel bad for Electronic Arts or not but let’s recap: an email was sent to a few select players, containing a special code as thanks for completing a survey. This allowed you to download a free game from Origin. Fairly standard. But it gets better.

According to Reddit users (who rightly took advantage of it), this code could be used more than once. In fact, you could use it to download as many free games as your bandwidth possibly allowed (and then some more). And it wasn’t just limited to those who took the survey – just about any user with an Origin account could use the code.

The code is no longer working however, but the hauls that some gamers, as seen on Reddit, have amassed is ridiculous. Check out the link for more. Guess this wouldn’t be the first instance of karma we’ve heard of today though, huh?
