Is Bioware’s upcoming unannounced IP an action game? In its Investor Day briefing, publisher Electronic Arts noted that the Mass Effect Andromeda developer is certainly working on one.

According to a slide from the presentation, three factors were listed as making the action genre lucrative to EA – Star Wars, Motive Studios (headed by Jade Raymond of Assassin’s Creed fame) and Bioware.

This could also mean that Mass Effect Andromeda isn’t being considered an RPG in the strictest sense, especially considering the third person shooter tilt of the second and third games in the series. It could also simply suggest that Bioware is expanding past its RPG pedigree into something completely new.

Whatever the case may be, Mass Effect Andromeda is still slated to release in early 2017. At least it’ll be at E3 2016 with a gameplay reveal of sorts (hopefully). What are your thoughts on Bioware working on an action game? Let us know in the comments.
