EA Sports UFC 4

Electronic Arts has a new gameplay trailer for EA Sports UFC 4, its latest sequel in the mixed martial arts fighting franchise. Along with providing a better look at the visuals, it also highlights the new mechanics and systems. Check it out below.

Grappling is now bolstered by Real Player Motion technology, which has led to overhauls in clinching and takedowns. There’s a new submission system in place as well along with an overhaul to ground and pound. How much of an improvement the game is over its predecessor remains to be seen but at least it looks pretty.

EA Sports UFC 4 is out on August 14th for Xbox One and PS4 with potential Xbox Series X and PS5 versions to be revealed in the future. Along with all the changes to combat, it now has unified progressions, new environments for training and over 1600 gear pieces to customize fighters with. Ultimate Team won’t be returning though due to the lack of player engagement. Stay tuned for more details en route to release.
