Despite halting production of Wii U games in 2013, Electronic Arts was relatively supportive of Nintendo’s fledgling console in the beginning. Will it work on the company’s next flagship console NX when it eventually releases?

EA Studios executive VP Patrick Soderlund spoke to BBC about the same and while asked about whether Battlefield 1 could come to the console, Soderlund spoke in more general terms.

“I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo; they’re the reason why I started making games. We’re in constant communication with them and when they come to market [with] something…and if it makes sense for us, we’ll be there.”

It sounds like depending on the hype surrounding the NX and whether it will be a success could determine EA’s support for the same. Which makes sense in this day and age – when the PS4 alone has more than 40 million units sold, why risk resources? Let us know what you think in the comments.
