Remember that long, torturous period before summer 2021 rolled around when the only thing related to Elden Ring that FromSoftware and Bandai Namco had revealed was its announcement teaser trailer? Well, it seems they’ve been compensating for that of late. Those looking forward to the open world RPG (and there’s no shortage of such people) have been treated to a barrage of Elden Ring updates in recent days and weeks, with a recent gameplay deep dive being the cream of the crop. Now, we’ve got a bunch more gameplay to gawk at.

Several hands-on previews were recently published by media outlets who got the chance to dive into the game’s upcoming closed network test early, and thanks to that, we’ve got several outlets uploading meaty chunks of new gameplay footage that show everything from the open world, exploration, and traversal to optional dungeons, bosses, combat, and much, much more. Check it out below, courtesy of videos uploaded by Game Informer, Kinda Funny Games, Easy Allies, and GameSpot.

Additionally, a post was recently published on the PlayStation Blog as well, which, among other things, went into how Elden Ring is going to differ in both big and small ways from the formula that FromSoftware has been known for for over a decade. Fall damage, for instance, has been significantly reduced, given the game’s open world nature, so as to encourage players to explore more and be less afraid of falling from heights while doing so. Additionally, thanks to another interesting new wrinkle, finishing off specific groups of enemies that you encounter in the open world will reward you with recharges for your HP and FP- though the variables will depend on several factors, such as the type of flask or enemy group.

Elden Ring’s closed network alpha is kicking off tomorrow, November 12, and will run until November 14, so those who were lucky enough to get in will have the chance to experience what the RPG has to offer themselves soon enough.

Elden Ring is out on February 25, 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
