As one of this month’s biggest releases, Elden Ring Nightreign represents a change in pace for FromSoftware. Though it utilizes assets, locations and enemies from Elden Ring, the focus is on co-op and a rogue-like structure that encourages multiple runs. For those with concerns following the network test, game director Junya Ishizaki has confirmed some changes.

Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, Ishizaki confirmed grievances like players having difficulty understanding visible elements on the map or learning the Nightfarers’ moves. “To address these issues, we made some changes so that information was conveyed more clearly to players during gameplay.” It should also be clearer to understand your next steps during a run.

Ishizaki also confirmed “adjustments” to the difficulty following player feedback to “strike a balance that makes the game challenging as you progress, but still manageable.” One of the Nightlords, Gladius (the monstrous three-headed beast), is also due to receive some “updates.” Whether this means an increase in difficulty or other changes remains to be seen, so stay tuned.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. It retails for $39.99 and won’t feature cross-platform play. Players can only queue up solo or with two other teammates, but the developer is looking into a duos queue post-launch.
