Ever since it was announced at last year’s E3, FromSoftware fans have been eagerly awaiting details on Elden Ring. There have been leaks, like how it utilizes dynamic wildlife, but more official information has yet to be provided. Unfortunately, it seems that the upcoming first-party games showcase for Xbox Series X won’t be the place to learn more.
VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb tweeted about numerous reports that the action RPG could make an appearance at the showcase. He then clarified, “There’s a better chance of a Bakugan than Elden Ring on Thursday.” Given how the former is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, we’re gonna say that chances are slim-to-none of Elden Ring making an appearance tomorrow.
Elden Ring is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with Games of Thrones author George R.R. Martin working on the game with director Hidetaka Miyazaki. As a “natural evolution” of the Souls series, the game will feature a vast open world with horseback riding and combat. There will also be several ruins akin to dungeons along with a “wide range of unique and horrifying bosses”. Stay tuned for more details, hopefully in the coming months.
