Frontier Developments’ Elite: Dangerous had a contest last year with a prize pool of roughly $20,000 (or 13,000 GBP). The developer recently announced the winners of the contest with elite status being awarded in the exploration, trade and combat categories while a grand prize was awarded to the top player among all three.

The exploration award winner, Commander Tequila, traversed 8,000 star systems across 190,000 light years. The trade winner was Lordkee who managed 830,000 metric tons of exchangeable goods. Combat honours went to Fromtonrouge who downed more than 8,500 starships. However, it was user Onepercent who picked up the grand prize and won $15,000, travelling across more than 10,000 star systems, trading 835,000 metric tons, killing more than 9,000 enemy ships and spending a total of more than 1,029 hours of in-game time.

If that isn’t dedication, we don’t know what is.

Elite: Dangerous is currently out on the PC with major content updates on the way and an Xbox One release this Summer. Stay tuned for more information on the game in the coming months.
