Aglobe and LiveWire’s dark fantasy Metroidvania Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is getting a sequel. The development teams have announced along with publisher Binary Haze Interactive that the acclaimed indie gem will be receiving a follow-up in the form of Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist later this year.

Set decades after the events of the first game, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist will take players to the Land of Fumes, which suffers the double threat of not only toxic vapours that can drive everyone to madness – something fans of the first game will be familiar with – but also deadly machine-like artificial lifeforms known as the Homunculi.

Players will step into the shoes of new protagonist Lilac, who, like the first game’s Lily, has the ability to purify those who’ve been infected by the toxic vapours that envelope the land. With the aid of friendly spirits and machines, Lilac will embark on a quest to save the kingdom. By exorcising enemies, Lilac will be able to make use of their abilities, with over 30 abilities being available in the game.

The sequel will also feature an enhanced combat system that will allow players to equip four abilities at once, while progression systems will also be on offer to power up Lilac’s base stats. Beyond that, you can expect plenty of exploration, optional content, and more.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is out sometime this year exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
