Enshrouded 1.0 is finally out now, and we can tell you that the game’s Early Access exit brings a lot of stuff to like if you’re interested in stepping into its melancholic yet beautiful world.
Your role as the Flameborn is equal parts leading your settlement to progress and development, and fighting tooth and nail against some deadly enemies to secure the supplies you need to get there. That’s enough reason to engage with the world, but it’s the crafting system and the potential to create something reflecting your personal style that’s really appealing.
Based on our time spent with the game, we tell you that it does a lot to improve on all of the stuff that was already working in the Early Access version, using all of that as a base for new additions that are fresh while remaining familiar enough to long-term players.
All of these were interesting aspects of the game that helped it score quite well in our review, although we did find the story a tad too lackluster and a few mechanics a little too opaque for our liking. Nevertheless, the accompanying launch trailer paints a fairly accurate picture of what your time in the game is going to look like in case this one’s caught your eye.
