Epic Games Store Has Over 160 Million Users

The storefront's 2020 year-in-review reveals that over $700 million were spent on games.

The Epic Games Store continues to grow by leaps and bounds, as indicated by Epic Games’ 2020 year-in-review. The storefront has over 160 million PC users while daily active users were at 31.2 million, up by 192 percent over the previous year. Peak concurrent users hit 13 million while monthly active users were 56 million.

The storefront has offered over 103 free games with a total of over 749 million claimed by users. Over $700 million was spent on games with $265 million (or 37 percent) coming from third party titles. Players recorded 5.7 billion hours of playtime in total compared to 3.35 billion in 2019 (representing a 70 percent increase).

Some of the most popular titles include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Satisfactory, Fortnite, Snow Runner, Grand Theft Auto 5, Borderlands 3, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, Rocket League and so on. The storefront has quite a number of features planned for 2021 including player profiles, Achievements, an overhaul of the social features and wishlist improvements.
