Rockfish Games’ Everspace 2 showcased its space combat chops in a new gameplay trailer and developer. This time around, it’s possible to travel planetside and take part in huge battles. What dangers can you expect? See for yourself below.

Along with enemy fighters, there are giant gunships that are out to get you. Configuring a powerful setup of weapons is key but so is dodging and dashing to avoid death. Unlike its predecessor, which was a rogue-lite game, Everspace 2 focuses on having a persistent world with RPG elements and loot. Exploration is also important especially since tougher enemies can be stumbled upon if one isn’t careful.

Everspace 2 is in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Closed alpha access is currently rolling out for Kickstarter backers. It’s slated to launch in Steam Early Access in December 2020. The game is currently planned to remain in early access for one year and is targeting a late 2021/early 2022 launch (which will also include console releases).
