Rare’s previously announced Everwild has been shrouded in both mystery and silence for a long time now, although fans now have some form of update on the game’s development. Previously lead designer on Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation, Gary Napper will be joining Rare as a developer on the Everwild team.

Napper announced his next career move via a Twitter post recently, wherein he revealed that he would be serving as the Design Director on Everwild. Napper has previously also worked in the design department on Halo Wars 2, alongside other gigs at Supermassive Games, Criterion, and others.

The fact that key hires are still being done for the game should provide some reassurance about the state of its development. Reports have suggested that the title has been going through a rough development cycle, but head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty recently also commented on the same, stating that reports of Everwild restarting development were too extreme.

That said, fans shouldn’t expect Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, and Everwild among others to release before 2023 – read more on that through here.
