Everwild Lead Designer Is Lionhead Alum, Former Fable Legends Designer

Earlier in 2019, Rare revealed their next game. We didn’t get much of a look at it, but Everwild is a colorful title that looks to take place in a lush and fantastical world. The game has a pretty small development team of less than 50 people, and it seems at least one of those people came from another Microsoft fantasy project that didn’t make it over the finish line.

VGC got confirmation that James Blackham is the game’s Lead Designer. Blackham was a veteran of Lionhead, one of the studios that was under Microsoft’s umbrella that was shut down. Specifically, he was Lead Technical Designer for the canceled Fables Legends, a multiplayer-based spin-off of the Fables series.

Everwild was announced in 2019 at the X019 conference with a pretty lovely trailer. As of now, that’s all that’s been shown or said of the game.
