Fallout 4 European Trademark Registered by Bethesda Softworks

Cue skepticism.

Hot off the heels of the (most likely) bogus “TheSurvivor2299.com” website, it seems that Bethesda Softworks has registered a trademark for Fallout 4 in Europe. This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been fooled by a trademark in Europe though – remember Half Life 3?

Regardless, this is at least a little more legit than the website which was registered via GoDaddy, a commercial web hosting service, and whose country of origin appears to be Poland. The trademark was filed on November 14th 2013, and indicates a wide range of services, including CDs, entertainment computer software.

Bethesda Softworks has been incredibly tight-lipped about Fallout 4, neither confirming nor denying its existence. A rumour has been going around that the game will be showcased at Spike’s VGX Awards, while previous rumours indicated a launch for next-gen consoles. Honestly, who can predict which of these is true? We’ll have to wait and see but until then, expect the misdirection to continue.
