Bethesda’s super popular, superhit mobile game spinoff of the Fallout series, Fallout Shelter, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed on stage tonight (it has already been available on Xbox One for a while). The free to play game, which sees you tasked with running your own vault, managing its residents, is the perfect fit especially for something like the Switch, on which you can play the game with Joycons or the touch screen. On the other hand, the PS4 version will have Trophies, so there is that to consider.
The best part is, the game will be available on both systems tonight, so you don’t actually have to wait for it or anything. Fallout Shelter does have microtransactions, but they are entirely inessential, and it is fully possible to play through the game without ever spending a single dime on it.
If you don’t want to play on PS4 or Switch, Fallout Shelter is already available on iOS, Android, Windows and Steam, as well as on Xbox One.
