Far Cry 6’s gameplay reveal was leaked ahead of time (as most Ubisoft things are), but now it’s been officially shown off. The first person shooter’s first gameplay deep dive takes a look at the combat, the open world, and much more. There’s a heavy focus on revolutionary guerrilla warfare here, and it looks like it’s going to play into the gameplay as much as it does the story.

Where the open world is concerned, the trailer shows off various locales, including the towns, the jungles, the shores. Traversal around the world is also possible through several means, such as horse riding, travelling through secret paths of the guerrilla fighters, driving vehicles, or even pass right through Anton Castillo’s checkpoints.

Players have to hide their weapons when travelling in the open to blend in, can bribe guards, sabotage Castillo’s outposts, intercept communications, and much more. It looks like the game’s going to put quite a bit of emphasis on choosing between all-out combat and guerrilla tactics, which looks interesting.

Of course, combat is also shown off in great detail- and it seems to be focusing on improvisation and adapting to situations. Using whatever you can get your hands on to your advantage is going to be key, such as using a CD player to build a launcher type weapons that shoots out blades while playing songs. No, that’s really a thing. There are also the Supremo bagpacks, which can be used for a variety of purposes, from shooting out a barrage of rockets to serving as a flamethrower.

Oh, and yes, fangs for hire are back, and they look as adorable as ever, if not more so.

Far Cry 6’s release date has also been confirmed. The shooter is out on October 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Check out its gameplay deep dive below.
