Revealed as a surprise at The Game Awards 2018 (though its box art leaked beforehand), Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn presents a post-apocalyptic setting for the series. Given how it’s out next month, the developer has announced the official requirements for PC users. Minimum, Recommended, 4K/30 FPS, and 4K/60 FPS specifications have all been revealed.
As you might have guessed, a fairly strong set-up is required to run the game at a 4K resolution and 60 frames per second at Ultra settings. You’ll need an Intel Core i7-6700K running at 4.0 GHz or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X clocked at 3.4 GHz, along with 16 GB of RAM. An Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 SLI with 8 GB VRAM or AMD RX Vega 56 CFX with 8GB VRAM (or something better) is also a necessity.
The Recommended requirements for running the game in 1080p resolution seem fairly reasonable though. Of course, it all comes down to optimization at the end of the day, but if the game is anything like Far Cry 5, there shouldn’t be many problems. Far Cry New Dawn releases on February 15th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
