SNK has revealed its plans to celebrate the first anniversary of its fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. A major update for the title is slated to come out on April 24th, coinciding with the release of the newest addition to its roster—Wolfgang Krauser. Along with this, the studio has also released three videos, which you can check out below.

The video features glimpses at the competitive community surrounding Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, as well as messages of thanks by its various developers. Paired with these messages are scenes from tournaments and gameplay footage of players competing against each other.

As for the update, along with Wolfgang Krauser, it will also bring in a main story mode, dubbed Wolves’ Destiny. Described as the first of its kind in the history of the Fatal Fury franchise, it will revolve around a battle between a returning Emperor Krauser and the Emperor of Second South, Kain. The story is slated to feature more than 15,000 words, and will include full voice acting in English and Japanese, and will be told through the use of almost 150 new, original illustrations.

Kain is also getting a new costume to commemorate the Wolves’ Destiny mode. On the gameplay side of things, Ring Out Battle modes will mark their return, and multiplayer-focused players can hop into the Fighters’ Hub for all their online matchmaking needs. Players using Smart Style will also find that they can start using heavy special moves.

The series of announcements comes to an end with SNK revealing that the Standard Edition of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now priced at $19.99, and will include all base game characters and game modes. A Legends Edition is also available for $49.99, and will include all of the content from Season Pass 1 and 2.

Wolfgang Krauser was announced for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves earlier this month. The character made his first appearance all the way back in Fatal Fury 2, where he was the primary antagonist. While though to have been killed by Terry Bogard, Krauser is now returning with revenge on his mind. The moveset of his latest incarnation will revolve around quick jabs, slams, overhead options, and aerial attacks. Krauser is only one of the characters part of the fighting game’s Season Pass 2.

Last month saw the confirmation that the protagonist of the classic manga Fist of the North Star, Kenshiro, will also be joining the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The character is slated to come out in June. For more details, take a look at the trailer showcasing his capabilities.

Generally speaking, Season Pass 2 is slated to bring 12 characters to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Along with upcoming characters like Krauser and Kenshiro, the game has already gotten Kim Jae Hoon in January, Nightmare Geese in February, and Blue Mary last month.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
