SNK has announced that the first DLC character for its fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, will be Andy Bogard, will be coming to the game on June 24. The character is the first one of the five planned Season 1 DLC characters for the fighting game.

The role of Andy Bogard will be played by Kieran Regan in English, and Hiroshi Okamoto in Japanese. The character, a shinobi hailing from South Town, has been described by the studio as a Master of Shiranui-style melee combat – taijutsu. Having previously worked with Mai Shiranui in her clan’s village as one of the mentors to its many youths, Andy Bogard has decided to set off after his disciple, Hokutomaru, has come into his own.

Along with being available as one of the playable characters in its primary 1-on-1 game mode, Andy Bogard will also be available to use in the solo RPG mode in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Dubbed Episodes of South Town, the RPG mode for Andy will allow Fatal Fury fans to get more details about not only Bogard, but also South Town.

A trailer was also released for Andy Bogard in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which showcases quite a few of his basic combos, and how they can combo into more advanced techniques like sliding attacks and even mid-air grapples. Bogard is also equipped with a few ways to cross-up opponents that might be playing defensively, allowing him to get behind their blocking to hit them with unexpected moves.

Funnily enough, all of Andy’s moves are being showcased against his former disciple Hokutomaru, likely framed as an attempt by Andy to train his pupil in some of the more complex arts of the Shiranui style.

All of the season 1 characters for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves are available through the game’s Special Edition, and the studio has noted that there are no current plans to sell the base game and its season 1 pass separately.

Andy Bogard will be followed up with Street Fighter character Ken in Summer 2025, who will then be followed by Joe Higashi in Fall 2025, Street Fighter character Chun-Li in Winter 2025, and Mr. Big in early 2026.

Interestingly, Andy Bogart’s pupil, Hokutomaru, was revealed as a member of the base game’s roster through a trailer back in April. While he trained in South Town under Bogard, Hokutomaru originally hailed from the nearby mountains. Along with moves from the Shiranui style, Hokutomaru is also equipped with Ignition and Redline Gears, as well as a Hidden Gear where he melds Mai Shiranui’s techniques with his own.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was released back in March. For more details about SNK’s revival of its classic fighting game franchise, check out our review where we gave it a score of 7 out of 10. In our review, we praised the title for its unique art direction and visuals, while criticising the lack of variety in its Episodes of South Town mode as well as the AI in Arcade mode.
