SNK has announced that Mr. Karate will be the fifth DLC character joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as part of its second season. The character will be coming to the game later this month. The studio has released a short teaser trailer showcasing the upcoming character’s Tengu mask-involving design, which you can check out below.

With this announcement, SNK has unveiled only six of the characters from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves‘ Season 2. The season kicked off with Kim Jae Hoon, and the studio followed up with the release of Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, and Wolfgang Krauser. With Mr. Karate slated for release in May, the final character unveiled so far will be Fist of the North Star protagonist Kenshiro in June. Six more characters will likely be unveiled at a later date and will be released over the remainder of the year.

Mr. Karate first made his debut in 1992’s Art of Fighting. The studio has described the character as having “strength and skill beyond compare.” Unfortunately, no other details about Mr. Karate have been revealed for now.

Wolfgang Krauser was added to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in April and was accompanied by a free update that brought in a host of new features to the game. Among these is a main story mode, dubbed Wolves’ Destiny, which has also been described as being the first of its kind in Fatal Fury history. The story revolves around a battle between Emperor Krauser and Kain, the Emperor of Second South. SNK has said that it features more than 15,000 words in its script, along with full voice acting in English and Japanese.

Krauser first made his Fatal Fury back in Fatal Fury 2, where he served as the primary antagonist. The story for the 1992 fighting game ended with Terry Bogard killing Krauser. However, he has clearly recovered and rejoined the roster in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves with revenge on his mind. His moveset revolves around the use of quick jabs, slams, overhead attacks, and plenty of aerial options.

Interestingly, despite being the sixth character for Season 2 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Kenshiro was officially unveiled back in March. The character’s moveset will likely revolve around his Hokuto Shinken martial art, which focuses on using the pressure points of his opponents to beat them down in strange and violent ways. Check out the animated short video teasing Kenshiro’s arrival into the Fatal Fury universe from all the way back in January.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title was released in April 2025, and in our review at the time, we praised its character models, background art, and gameplay depth offered by the REV system. However, we noted that the lack of enemy variety in Episodes of South Town, as well as underwhelming presentation and awkward UI, were some of the rougher parts of the fighting game.
