Developer SNK Corporation has released a new animated trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Titled “The Saga Continues”, the trailer, which you can check out below, teases future DLC releases for the fighting game. Along with this, the trailer also sets up some of the moments that will likely play a big role in the stories of upcoming characters.

Among the roster additions teased in the trailer are Duck King, Kim Kaphwan, Rick Strowd, and Laocorn Gaudeamus. SNK hasn’t yet made any official announcements regarding these characters coming to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. However, Rick Strowd and Laocorn Gaudeamus were previously teased as potential DLC characters.

As a whole, the trailer acts as a celebration of the DLC that has been released for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as part of its Season 2 pass, and even includes Fist of the North Star protagonist Kenshiro, who joined the fighting game’s roster just last month. Since it’s an animated trailer that doesn’t include any in-game footage, however, we don’t quite get to see how the new characters will play.

It is worth keeping in mind that the Season 2 pass of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has only gotten six characters so far, with six more planned for release in the coming months. Along with Kenshiro, the season pass has included Mr. Karate, Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, and Wolfgang Krauser.

Leading up to Kenshiro’s arrival in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, SNK had released a trailer providing an in-depth look at the character’s moveset. Kenshiro largely focuses on close-range fighting thanks to his abilities that make use of his pressure-point-based Hokuto Shinken martial art. Through his moves, Kenshiro can cause internal damage to his opponents by attacking internal pressure points throughout their bodies.

The Fatal Fury version of Kenshiro has been described as “highly technical”, with many of his moves flowing into each other and opening enemies up to more avenues of attack in different ways. The character also has combo options that help confuse opponents and status changes to apply even more pressure.

The character is voiced by Clayton Alexander in English and Shunsuke Takeuchi in Japanese, and has an entire story dedicated to him in his Arcade Mode playthrough. The story revolves around Kenshiro trying to figure out how he ended up in the world of Fatal Fury to begin with, and deciding to help the weak people of South City who have been suffering at the hands of tyrants. To do this, he decides to join the King of Fighters tournament so that he can confront Wolfgang Krauser face-to-face.

Kenshiro also has story content in the Episodes of South Town story mode, where he can meet, befriend, and hang out with popular characters from the Fatal Fury franchise, like Terry and Mai. There is also a new plot here that revolves around a strange miasma that has been spreading throughout South City.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. For more details, check out our review of its launch version.
