Football’s international governing body, FIFA, along with Solace, has unveiled a new arcade-based football game. Titled FIFA Heroes, it was announced with a trailer, which you can check out below, and will be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android in 2026. There has been no word on a PC version.

Unfortunately, the trailer for FIFA Heroes doesn’t really showcase any gameplay. Rather, it focuses purely on vibes, featuring a host of real people playing football in their streets and neighbourhood playgrounds. Developer Enver Studio, however, has confirmed that it will be a 5-on-5 football game with a focus on mascots and legends from the sport.

The studio has described FIFA Heroes as featuring dynamic physics with a focus on arcade-styled gameplay, thanks to players being able to make use of epic power moves. During their time with the game, players will be able to assemble their own squad of players, ranging from football personalities, recognisable fictional characters, and the official mascots that FIFA has used over the years.

Along with the multiplayer game modes that you might expect from a football game, FIFA Heroes will also include PvE gameplay, complete with a career mode that has been described as featuring its own milestones that revolve around the player progressing their own club through a variety of challenging matches.

The announcement has also noted that FIFA Heroes will be the first time that the official FIFA mascots will be playable characters in a football game. At launch, the title will feature three of FIFA’s mascots from host nations: Maple for Canada, Zayu for Mexico and Clutch for the US. These mascots will each have their own unique abilities and special moves, with more slated to be revealed over time.

“At FIFA, uniting people through the love of football has always been our priority,” said the director of gaming and esports at FIFA, Christian Volk, in the press release. “With FIFA Heroes, fans can create a multiverse team: mixing their treasured fictional heroes, favourite players, and our own mascots. We’re offering the love of football to a new generation, while rekindling the nostalgia and fun for families and older players who’ve grown up with FIFA. FIFA Heroes fits seamlessly into our digital football portfolio under the FIFAe umbrella, adding another strong pillar to our fast-growing gaming ecosystem.”

Unfortunately, there has been no confirmation from FIFA, Solace or Enver Studio about what kind of roster of athletes and other characters we can expect from FIFA Heroes.

“From day one, Solace has worked closely with Enver, the development studio, to create pioneering game development experiences that bring players together,” said Solace director Kyle Joyce. “With FIFA Heroes, we set out to capture what actually makes football so compelling: speed, drama, and rivalry. Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and this game is our way of putting that love of the sport into play.”
