The wait continues.

44. Final Fantasy 15

E3 has come and gone, but there are no signs of Final Fantasy 15. Although Square Enix did announced Final Fantasy Type-O HD for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, lack of new information about the next major entry seems to indicate a few things. It seems that Square Enix has not completely recovered from the development hell that Versus 13 went through. It’s been over a year since we have heard anything new, despite the developers promising over and over again that there will be new details soon.

On another note, remember that trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX that featured a teaser at the end for Kingdom Hearts 3? Kotaku spoke to co-director Tai Yasue during E3 and in turns out that this wasn’t simply a teaser – it was actually the first scene in the game.

“That’s the starting scene for Kingdom Hearts III, actually. [Co-director Tetsuya] Nomura has a real clear picture of the starting sequence. He wrote that up actually, the drawings, and we voice-recorded that. That’s gonna be a real integral part of the story of Kingdom Hearts III. It’s gonna be the starting point of Kingdom Hearts III.”

Kingdom Hearts 3 skipped E3 this year along with Final Fantasy 15 but it could very well re-appear at other events this year. Both games are in development for Xbox One and PS4.
