Final Fantasy 16 Producer Naoki Yoshida is Bringing “a Very Special Live Presentation” to The Game Awards

Producer and host Geoff Keighley has revealed that Square Enix's Naoki Yoshida will be attending the show for "a very special live presentation."

The evidence continues to mount that a release date announcement for Final Fantasy 16 could be drawing ever closer. Reports have claimed that the specific launch date of the upcoming Square Enix RPG will likely be announced at The Game Awards, with pre-orders going live on the same day, and that’s now seeming even likelier.

The Game Awards producer and host Geoff Keighley recently took to Twitter and announced that at the show on December 8, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida will be in attendance as a presenter, and will be bringing “a very special live presentation” to the show. As you’d expect, there’s no more details on what the presentation will entail, but the expectation is that a new trailer of Final Fantasy 16 will premier.

Recently, game director Hiroshi Takai said that the RPG’s development was “about 95%” complete, and that Square Enix would likely be revealing its release date before the end of the year. Recently, the game was also rated in Brazil, suggesting that release date announcement was close. Square Enix also intends to release a demo for the game before its launch– it remains to be seen whether we will hear more about that at The Game Awards.

Final Fantasy 16 is in development for PS5. It will be exclusive to the console for at least six months after release.
