One of several side quests or minigames that you will encounter in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has to do with collecting Moogle Intel. These minigames will task you with rounding up Mooglets on behalf of the Moogle Merchant, and getting them back to work in their Moogle Emporium which is the mushroom or Mogstool at the center of the play area. This Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth guide is for the best practices you can use to get the job done effectively.

To begin with, you won’t really be catching Mooglets for the most part. Instead, you will be herding them like sheep, by simply approaching them.

Since Mooglets will always move in the opposite direction of your own approach, first align yourself in such a way that the Mooglet is in a straight line between you and the mushroom. And then make your move. Don’t approach haphazardly from any random angle, and cause them to overshoot their destination.

While aligning yourself and your Mooglet target, try to make the opposite end of the line one of the openings in the fence surrounding the mushroom, rather than the fence itself. While Mooglets can be coaxed around the fence too, it can get tricky to accomplish, and it’s generally much easier to get them through the gaps right from the start.

Never run. Just don’t, as it will lead you to overshoot and make the Mooglets scatter wildly. Instead, maintain the standard movement speed as much as possible, unless a target is really getting away from you.

There is one instance where you can grab Mooglets , and that is in the Junon Region where you will be attempting Moogle Intel: Mariner Moogle. As the on-screen hint states: “Lure the moogle into a whirlwind!” Once done successfully, the whirlwind will dissipate while stunning the Mooglet. With the countdown bar active, get close enough to see and use the L2 prompt to ‘Hold’ the Mooglet. This method will let you quickly capture some of the more stubborn Mooglets.

That’s everything to know about effectively catching Mooglets in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
