Final Fantasy 7 Remake (23)

Remember when a listing for the PS4 demo of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake appeared over the holidays? It turns out that some players were able to access and download the demo. This allowed some like YouTuber LM V2 to play through and record a good chunk of the demo. Check it out below – you can also just watch the intro, courtesy of Lystrasza, to avoid spoilers.

There probably isn’t too much to spoil especially for those who saw the gameplay reveal presentation from E3 2019. Cloud Strife arrives in Midgar and joins up with Avalanche before heading to the Mako Reactor. Combat is showcased and eventually, Barret joins the party.

Production values are excellent while maintaining the overall feel and atmosphere of the original game. We’ll have to wait and see how the whole experience pans out though. Final Fantasy 7 Remake only covers the first part of the PS One classic – it’s out on March 3rd 2020 for PS4. The second part is already in the works.
