When Square Enix confirmed that Red XIII would only appear in Final Fantasy 7 Remake as a guest party member rather than as a full-on playable character, quite a lot of people were more than a little disappointed. As one of the main characters in the original Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Red XIII is someone many people were looking forward to playing as.

He will, in all likelihood, be playable in FF7 Remake’s sequel – whenever that arrives – but here’s some good news for you- you might not have to wait too long to be able to step into his paw-shaped shoes. Software engineer Luciano Ciccariello recently took to Twitter to share that using his SaveEditor mod, you can play as Red XIII. He has a full movement suite, attacks, dodging, and more, though he does have some restrictions. For instance, you can’t equip Materia, or use magic attacks. Take a look at him in action through @DENGOJIN’s video upload on Twitter below.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now on PS4. Apparently, work on its sequel is already underway.
