Final Fantasy VII Remake is, without question, one of the most anticipated games coming out. It’ll definitely be kicking off 2020 with a bang and, as of now, it’s only doing that on PlayStation 4. A recent mention of the game on the German Xbox Facebook page perked up some ears, however, that the game would be coming to that system as well at launch and just hadn’t been announced yet. Sadly, though, it seems not to be the case.
Maxi Graff, the marketing communications and social leader at Xbox Germany, confirmed by their personal Twitter account that it was simply a mistake by the marketing team. The video and post is now taken down.
It is, of course, very unlikely that the game will remain exclusive to Sony’s system permanently. It’s too big of a game and event, so a release on both the Xbox One and PC is probably inevitable (unless Sony has some direct development in the game that, as of writing this, hasn’t come to light). But, as it stands now, Final Fantasy VII Remake will release exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
Hey. We did an internal mistake in the Social Team. We took the video off immediately. Sorry, no announcement on our side. Big apologies for this.
