Final Fantasy 9

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 9, widely considered one of the best Final Fantasy games of the PlayStation One era, will be coming to the PS4. Recently rated by PEGI, Square Enix confirmed that the remaster was happening at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show presser.

Thus far, it seems that Final Fantasy 9 will have updated HD visuals like Final Fantasy 10/10-2 Remaster and Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age. It won’t be an out-and-out remake like Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

We are interested to see what gameplay changes Square Enix has made though, especially since Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age benefited from the International Zodiac Job System edition changes along with introducing other new features. At the very least, we can expect the soundtrack to be fully orchestrated this time around.

Final Fantasy 9 on the PS4 currently doesn’t have a release for North America and Europe but if you’re in Japan, then it will launch today. That’s right, today. Secure a copy quickly.
