Final Fantasy 7 Remake (23)

One of the most iconic and well-known gaming protagonists of all time—iconic enough to be in Super Smash Bros.—is Cloud Strife, the hero of Final Fantasy VII, and the face of one of the most popular and beloved gaming franchises ever.

Square Enix, the developers and publishers of Final Fantasy, obviously know how big and beloved Cloud is. That is why so much of the marketing for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake has focused on Cloud, his iconic sword, his silhouette, and so on. And so, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the newest trailer for the game focuses exclusively on Cloud Strife.

This trailer, shared on Twitter by the official account for the game, is a 23 second ode to Cloud, and the legend of just how cool the mercenary for hire is. Seeing him in modern HD graphics will probably tickle the nostalgia bone for many who grew up with the original Final Fantasy VII back in the day, I imagine.

You can check out the trailer below. Final Fantasy VII Remake launches exclusively on PS4 on March 3, 2020. If you want to see more of the game, make sure to also have a look at how Aerith has been reworked for the new battle system in the remake.
