Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn “Character Customization”: Building Your Bunny of Death

Alpha footage released by Square-Enix details what we can expect when the MMO hits next month.

Who’s looking forward to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn? Ever since the colossal (and continuing) mess that’s been Square-Enix’s MMORPGs based on the Final Fantasy franchise, it’s hard to imagine too many people would be enthusiastic. But at the very least, they’re putting in an effort this time, with a new server system, graphics engine, redesigned field maps and user interface, overhauling the jobs system and large scale PvP combat.

One of the changes Square-Enix mentioned was additional genders, but they run through the whole gamut in this character creation alpha video, that displays exactly how deep the customisation process goes. Currently, races available are Hyur (Midlander, Male) and Miqo’te (Seeker of the Sun, Female) with options for classes like Archer, Lancer and Conjurer. Have a look and decide if it’s worth your pretty penny to invest.

A Realm Reborn is scheduled to begin shortly after the original game ends on November 11th 2012.
