The Yakuza games are fantastic, and they are consistently so- which means that the studio that works on them is truly something special. So of course, all their projects are projects that deserve to have an eye kept on them- especially when said projects turn out to be something different than what they are known for.
Which is why we sat up and took notice of a new Fist of the North Star game, Hokuto Ga Gotoku, that was announced by the Yakuza team for the PS4 recently. Based on the popular Japanese anime and manga, the game will feature a combat system similar to Yakuza, while also featuring unique elements more appropriate to what it is. Its lead will be voiced by voice actor Takaya Kuroda, whom fans know best as Kiryu- the voice actor of the hero in the Yakuza games.
Fist of the North Star will release in 2018 for the PS4; we should learn more about the game at the Tokyo Game Show.
