Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird has netted tons of cash for developer Dong Nguyen, and the iOS/Android platformer which is apparently unforgiving enough to give Dark Souls nightmares. However, Nguyen has removed the game from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store since it has apparently complicated the man’s life.

Tweeting about the same, Nguyen said, “I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.” He added that, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.”

And to make things worse, several users have been lodging death threats against Nguyen on Twitter. “F**k you asshole, I’ll f**king kill you if I have to. Put back Flappy Bird on the market or I’m afraid I’ll have to meet you.”

Flappy Bird has been criticized for ripping off assets from Super Mario Bros. but the game wasn’t removed for the same reason. As of now, Nguyen said some people have been playing the game too much. It’s gone for now, but will it come back eventually? We’ll see in the coming months.
