Flashback Announced for August 21st on Xbox 360: First Screenshots Released

The 1992 classic is reborn and will also be heading to PSN and PC this Fall.

After a preview by IGN that showed how the game played and which also explained the basic premise, Ubisoft have officially announced Flashback for release on Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade as part of the Summer of Arcade promotion. It will retail for 800 Microsoft Points and is expected to hit PSN and PC this autumn.

Ubisoft also released the first screenshots of the game, which can be viewed below. Some of the screens also showcase the difference between the 1992 release and the current gen version.

Flashback sees protagonist Conrad battling the evil alien Morphs in order to save the world (and his girlfriend). As a remake of the 1992 classic, Flashback will see the original team bringing the classic side scrolling gameplay to the current generation of consoles. That means 3D graphics and some mechanics on top of new art direction to better reflect the game’s sci-fi setting.

If this weren’t appealing enough, the original Flashback will also be included so that gamers can experience the classic of yesteryear.
