Though Epic Games indicated in the update screen for Fortnite: Battle Royale that jetpacks were “coming soon”, it will have a new weapon out before then – the Hunting Rifle. In fact, it could arrive later today with the recent update.
Regarding the delay to jetpacks, Epic Games told PC Gamer that there was a “last minute design issue”. “We found a last minute design issue with the Jetpack that’s going to delay its launch and we’re working on correcting it…The Jetpack will lift off at a later time.” It also noted that there would be a “lucky” point of interest to find on the map so that’s even more indication that the update will be out soon.
Though Epic has been adding new guns quickly, with the Desert Eagle only recently being introduced, it has stated that other guns could be removed to facilitate them. In terms of other updates, the Season 3 Battle Pass is now live. There’s also the new Solid Gold time limited mode which grants Legendary loot in every single chest on the map. This allows players to have loadouts with some of the best weapons in the game. More time limited modes like the return of 50v50 will also be coming soon.
