It feels like forever since Season 1 of Fortnite: Chapter 2 has been around but its end is near. Season 2 kicks off today and will likely see updates to the map, a new Battle Pass with various cosmetics, and some new gameplay mechanics. Epic Games has announced that the downtime for server maintenance will start at 4 AM ET.
The game’s official Twitter also noted that patch sizes would be larger than normal since this is the start of a new Season. One has to wonder about the different changes coming especially with regards to the battle royale map. We’ll just have to wait and see what all this “activated” nonsense is about in a few hours.
Fortnite: Chapter 2 started back in October 2019 following the popular “The End” event which saw the old map destroyed. It was thought to be going away this past January but Epic Games announced a continuation till February. Not that there haven’t been different events and collaborations in that time, the most recent being one with Birds of Prey, the new Harley Quinn film.
Get ready to be activated.
