At this point, this has to be the worst kept secret in the history of the industry- Fortnite for Nintendo Switch is apparently now available on the Nintendo eShop, with all associated meta data uploaded as well. The game is tagged for release tomorrow- which means it will likely be an “available now” style announcement made during Nintendo’s show. The eShop’s servers will not be able to withstand the onslaught.
Fortnite on Switch is seemingly 2GB, and includes only the battle royale mode, not the PvE Save the World mode. The screenshots, file icon, everything all seems to be on the Nintendo eShop’s servers- in fact, you can check out the files hosted on Nintendo’s own servers for yourself by clicking here.
So… that’s that. Fortnite on Nintendo Switch is real, and it’s launching tomorrow. I wonder how well Nintendo’s servers will be able to hold up to Switch owners frantically trying to download the world’s most popular game to their consoles.
