Fortnite Receiving Jetpacks in Next Update “Soon”

Players will apparently be taking to the skies in the near future.

Fortnite Battle Royale

Epic Games’ Fortnite is line to receive jetpacks for its next update. It’s interesting because the developer hasn’t outright announced it just yet. Instead, xCosmit on Reddit saw jetpacks on the update screen, which is used to indicate the newer content that’s come to the game recently. The Royal Dragon Glider and Season 3 Battle Pass are also featured.

The gold background in the image seems to indicate that the item is Legendary, which means you’ll have to get pretty lucky for it to drop (and there aren’t a ton of them on the map). We still don’t know how the jetpack will work. Fortnite already has jump pads which allow players to take flight with their gliders temporarily. Perhaps this is a play on that?

Regardless, Epic Games has said it won’t be adding vehicles to Fortnite: Battle Royale anytime soon. A jetpack wouldn’t be the worst alternative, especially if it’s meant for quickly reaching higher places and has a limited number of uses.
