The existence of Forza Horizon 3 really wasn’t a surprise at E3 this year, but I don’t think anyone expected the game to look as great as it does. It basically looks like the Mario Kart of arcade racers in terms of the sheer amount of fun that it may offer the player.
Now, we have some new details on the game, thanks to Turn 10 Community Lead Brian Ekberg, who gave us quite an info dump on the game during Microsoft’s E3 live coverage. He confirmed that the game, which is set in Australia, will be extremely authentic- the team actually went to Australia to ensure they got the essence of the country right. The end result is the single most diverse world that has ever been in a Forza game, and a map that is twice as big as in Horizon 2.
This time around, the player is the boss of the Horizon festival, instead of just a participant- this has implications for the gameplay and structure too, since as the boss, you can customize events, choose the music, and so on. There are also vehicle customization options, including ones that will be authentic to the Australian setting. Finally, the game is fully co-op, meaning every single thing that you can do in this game, you can do with up to three other players.
Forza Horizon 3 will be out later this year on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
