Forza Motorsport 4 November Speed Pack Review

Posted By | On 14th, Dec. 2011

Turn 10 had said that they will release DLC for Forza 4 every month, and the first of these DLCs has landed. Please check out our Forza Motorsport 4 review over here. I had given it a great score of 9/10 stating that, “Forza Motorsport 4 is a gift to all the people who love cars. The replayability here is great and it improves over its predecessor in every way. If you’re looking for a racing game to waste your time during the holidays, look no further.

The core game contains 500 cars, and with this new DLC, the total goes up to 510. That’s right this DLC pack contains 10 new cars such as, Aston Martin Virage, Audi rs sportback, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, Chevrolet Bel Air and Ferrari F458.

Most of these are super cars obviously, and that’s a good thing, as these are the cars that get refreshed quite regularly. If you have a season pack, you can get most of the DLCs for free, if not you have to pay 560 MSP for the same. So the question is, is it worth 560 MSP? When you do buy the pack, you cannot just use them in the career mode, you have to buy it using your in-game credits.

It’s not a bad thing, though, as you can check out all these cars in quick race mode. There are quite a few of them here, especially my favourite Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. It’s amazing how Turn 10 have nailed the sound in these games, as these cars are just a joy to drive.

The supercars in particular like the Lamborghini and the Ferrari’s are threateningly scary. You get a Ferrari F458 model here, which looks just amazing and is quite tunable. Only when you drive them in the cockpit view, you realize how close they are to the real life models.

Apart from the Ferrari, there are LMPs as well. These are crazy fast cars that are not used for circuit races. Most of the cars in the November pack aren’t priced that high, so if you want, you can buy them all if you are at a decent stage in your career. There’s also a low performance vehicle like VW Scirocco R, so if you just want to drive leisurely, this car is the best. I tested them all under the Top Gear test track, and most of them are quite fine, handling wise.

The costliest car in the pack is the Ferrari 458 Italia, which will set you back b 10,00,000 credits. Before you go, “WTF, this does not cost that much!” It’s not a normal Italia, it’s actually race modded and quite fast. So if you want an easy time in the career, buying this a must.

The pack just has 10 cars, and nothing else, so if you love to collect cars and improve your garage, do buy it by all means. It’s a car collectors dream, but if you don’t care about the extra content, the core game has enough cars to justify it’s price. So skip it if you must.

I would have liked Turn 10 to add a few tracks here, instead of just cars, but I guess it’s coming in some future DLC. The season pass costs 2400 MSP, so if you buy that it will be helpful in the long run.

This game was reviewed on the Xbox 360.

THE GOOD

Ten highly detailed cars. Cheap. Great sounds.

THE BAD

Lack of tracks.

Final Verdict:
GOOD
The pack just has 10 cars, and nothing else, so if you love to collect cars and improve your garage, do buy it by all means. It's a car collectors dream, but if you don't care about the extra content, the core game has enough cars to justify it's price.
