Friday the 13th: The Game Development Shifts to Black Tower Games

IllFonic's contracted work on the horror title is officially finished.

After announcing that IllFonic’s “contracted work” has been completed, Gun Media is now working with Black Tower Games to continue supporting Friday the 13th: The Game. This comes off of an announcement earlier this year about future content being cancelled due to a lawsuit surrounding the rights of the IP. IllFonic has moved on to new projects in the meantime.

Black Tower Games is known for titles like Archangel (iOS) besides assisting IllFonic in developing the Jarvis House and Pinehurst maps in Friday the 13th: The Game. It should be interesting to see what the studio does going forward. Honestly, at this point, only bug fixes and improvements to the core experience will be possible.

Friday the 13th: The Game launched in May 2017 and was beset with bugs, server issues, and a litany of other problems. It slowly improved and IllFonic put out regular content updates to cater to loyal players. What are your thoughts on Black Tower Games taking over in their stead? Let us know in the comments.
