11 bit studios’ Frostpunk 2 has a brief appearance at the PC Gaming Show this year, with the developer confirming a 2024 release window. Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait too long for the sequel. During 11 bit studios’ 2023 Investor Conference, it revealed that Frostpunk 2 would launch in the first half of next year for PC.
A global gameplay reveal is planned for this Autumn, so we’ll see how much the survival city-building formula has evolved. With all major features playable, there’s a high priority on external testing, and 11 bit studios will have its first press show at Gamescom in August. A press tour will begin in the United States in September.
Set 30 years after the first game, Frostpunk 2 sees the people of The City adapting to the eternal cold and prioritizing other things. Various teasers have shown oil and the conflicts that occur because of it. The developer assures that the sequel goes “vastly beyond” the original, with The City’s fate determined by your choices. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
